About the HTMLg online HTML editor
HTMLg started in 2015 as a free online HTML editor that lets you compose web content visually and see the HTML source code change in real time. It has since moved to HTML6.com. The tool has everything you need to write, convert and clean HTML in your browser without downloading, installing or registering anything.
How the WYSIWYG HTML editor works
The editor has two linked panes. The left pane is a visual WYSIWYG editor that behaves like a word processor. The right pane is a source code editor with syntax highlighting and line numbers. Type in either pane and the other one updates instantly, which is why it is often called an HTML editor with live preview. The panels below the editors hold the tag manager, the cleaning options, the settings, the find and replace tool, the color picker, the lorem ipsum generator and the tag and attribute filters.
Convert Word to HTML and clean the code
Most people use the editor as a Word to HTML converter. Copy a document from Microsoft Word, Google Docs, a PDF or any website, paste it into the visual editor and the HTML appears in the source pane. Word exports carry a lot of unnecessary markup, so run the HTML cleaner next: it removes inline styles, classes and IDs, empty tags, comments, tag attributes and successive non-breaking spaces in one click. The result is clean HTML you can publish in a CMS, an email template or a blog post.
Free HTML editor and PRO license
The free online HTML editor has every tool described above, with ads and a character limit. A PRO license costs less than a monthly beer and removes the ads and the limit, saves your settings and unlocks members-only features such as smart non-breaking space handling and the AI fixer. It is a one-time payment with an optional auto-renew, and you access the PRO editor through a secret web link, so there is still no login.
Always back up and save your code before processing it with the HTML cleaner so you can revert to the original if something does not go as expected, and double check the code you publish on a live site.
